The average age of first use is 12 years for alcohol, 12 years for cigerettes and 14 years for marijuana.  

Between the ages of 12 an 17, the likelihood that a teen will smoke, drink or use illegal drugs increase more than seven times.

 

Between the ages of 12 and 17, the percentage of teens with close friends who use marijuana jumps 14 times more.
