NPE SCHOOL COUNSELOR PROGRAM

School Counselors help children, parents, teachers promote student achievement. We see children individually, small groups and through classroom guidance. Lexington District One has a leadership curriculum that all school counselors use to help discuss specific topics such as: (cooperation, responsibility, differences, respect, consequences, coping strategies, teamwork, active listening, conflict, caring, communication, individual strengths, goal setting, making good decisions, positive attitude, peer pressure, bullying, transitioning to middle school and career education), to help our students become caring, productive leaders in our society. If there is not a topic covered through our curriculum we incorporate other topics based on teacher/parent, school need referrals.
